If you are an anime and/or manga fan, then there is usually that one series that served as your gateway into the world of Japanese anime and all the wonderful worlds it contains.

For some older otaku, it may be Star Blazers or Speed Racer. For others it might be Akira or Robotech. And for some, it will always be about the Dragon Balls.

For an entire generation of anime fans, the Dragon Ball franchise and all the various spinoffs opened the doors to the world of anime and manga. They have watched the adventures of Goku, Vegeta and the rest multiple times and never get tired of the spectacular fight sequences or the complex, if sometimes silly plot lines.

The latest series to hit the airwaves has been Dragon Ball Super, the sequel to Dragon Ball Z. It completed its run in Japan earlier this year and soon found its way to America thanks to Funimation and Cartoon Network.

And now the first Dragon Ball Super film is about to arrive in theaters, much to the delight of Dragon Ball fans the world over.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly picks up after the end of the television series and sees Broly arrive to do battle with Goku, Vegeta, Beerus and the rest. According to Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, the movie will also deal with the Frieza Force and the history of the Saiyans.

At the Funimation panel at San Diego Comic-Con International, they premiered the first English dub trailer for the film as well as announcing when we can expect to see it in America.

As you can see, the trailer features some pretty intense action and fighting sequences. All the over the top action you would expect from a Dragon Ball Super film is present and accounted for and should please longtime fans of the franchise.

Sean Schemmel and Christopher R. Sabat return to voice their iconic roles of Goku and Vegeta while Vic Mignogna joins the cast as Broly. As with previous Dragon Ball releases, the film will be dub only, with a subtitled version expected to be a part of the Blu-ray release.
