SDCC 2018: CW Teases Arrival Of Batwoman In New Sizzle Reel

At SDCC, CW released a new sizzle reel highlighting the heroes and villains of the Arrowverse as well as teasing the upcoming arrival of Batwoman.

When comic book fans talk about the idea of a shared superhero universe, most of the time the discussion starts and ends with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And why not? After 10 years, Marvel Studios has had incredible success taking the heroes of Marvel Comics and transferring them to the big screen.

However, when it might not be on the same scale, for my money the CW’s Arrowverse wins the award every time.

Sure, Marvel has produced over 20 films, but that pales in comparison to the fact Warner Bros. currently has four television series running that all take place in the same universe. Add in new arrival Black Lightning and the just announced Batwoman series and that is an insane amount of continuity to keep track of.

So it’s no surprise that fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the new television season and the return of their favorite heroes of the Arrowverse.

On Saturday the CW and the Arrowverse will invade Hall H at San Diego Comic Con for what is sure to be a packed panel covering all the latest news about Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and the rest of the line up. In anticipation of that, the CW has released a new sizzle reel that puts the focus on the heroes and villains of the Arrowverse as well as teases the arrival of Kate Kane.

Running over two minutes, the promo reel does a great job of showing viewers why the Arrowverse is unique in all of television. While Marvel’s forays into TV have been mediocre at best, the Arrowverse is still going strong and even getting better.

I mean, most fans will agree that if Warner Bros. made the DC Extended Universe of movies more like the Arrowverse, they probably would have been a lot more successful.

As for what to expect at the Arrowverse panel, the CW and Warner Bros. are keeping tight lipped. But with so much of the focus sure to be on the impending arrival of Batwoman, no one should be shocked if fans get a casting announcement or maybe even have the actress on hand to make an appearance.

In addition, more details are sure to be revealed about the upcoming crossover, which this year will only include Flash, Arrow and Supergirl. The fact that Gotham City and the Batman family will be going from Easter egg to full fledged member of the Arrowverse is sure to have fans eagerly anticipating December when the crossover arrives.
