To coincide with the return of Doctor Who to the airwaves, Titan Comics will be launching a new ongoing series featuring the Thirteenth Doctor.

It is a pretty safe assumption that it is a pretty exciting time to be a fan of the long-running British television series Doctor Who.

This past Christmas, viewers got their first look at Jodie Whittaker as the iconic Doctor in “Twice Upon A Time,” the first time the role has been played by a woman. The majority of fans seemed thrilled with the casting decision and are expecting great things from the rejuvenated series.

The Doctor will also be getting a trio of new companions in Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole and a brand new showrunner in Chris Chibnall.

And now Titan Comics has announced that a new ongoing comic book series featuring Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor is in the works as well.

As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, the new series will launch this fall and will be worked on by al all-female creative team.

Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor will be written by comic book veteran Jody Houser, who has worked on the comic adaptions of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Orphan Black as well as Mother Panic for DC Comics. The artwork will be done by Rachael Scott, who has worked on a number of Titan’s other Doctor Who comics, with colors by Enrica Angiolini.

Titan Comics has held the Doctor Who license since 2014 and has had a great deal of success with it, revisiting almost every different era in the character’s long and complex history.

Up until recently, Titan had been publishing three separate ongoing Doctor Who comics featuring the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors as well a number of miniseries and specials. However, all of those series have come to a conclusion with the next Doctor Who comic scheduled to be released as part of Free Comic Book Day.
