In a rarity for the DC Extended Universe, it has been confirmed that Justice League does indeed include a post-credits scene.
The post-credits scene has become something of a staple in genre films ever since Marvel Studios began the practice in the very first Iron Man film. Now, when pretty much any studio releases a superhero movie, they are inevitably asked if it includes a post (or in some cases mid) credits scene.
Sometimes, the scene is used to lay the groundwork for future films in the series or shared universe. Other times they are simply a nice Easter egg that rewards the diehard fans of a given franchise. And other times they are just, how to put this nicely, stupid.
(Seriously. Did you see the post-credit scenes after Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3? I felt like Marvel owed me an apology for making me sit in the theater all that time just to watch them)
One shared universe that has bucked the trend in Warner Bros. when it comes to the DC Extended Universe. They have used the gimmick only once, and that was the poorly received one at the end of Suicide Squad. Otherwise, there has been no need to sit through the credits of any other DCEU film.
That said, it sounds like you may want to get comfortable once the credits begin to roll for the forthcoming Justice League.
Justice League, set to hit theaters in just a few weeks, features the heroes of the DC Cinematic Universe, including Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and more, gather for the first time to battle Steppenwolf and his army or Parademons. It is directed by Zack Snyder and thus far has gotten some fairly positive buzz, in no small part thanks to the much needed critical success of Wonder Woman this past summer.
And now it has been revealed that yes, Justice League will include a post-credits scene.
While being interviewed by BBC Radio 2, Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman, was asked if moviegoers should stay in their seats once the credits start to roll. His answer was pretty straightforward.
“They do, they do. You’ve gotta sit through the whole thing and go through the credits… I forgot that it was in the script. It’s fantastic.“
So of course this opens the floodgates of speculation about what exactly will be in the post-credit scene. A setup for the Flash: Flashpoint film? The debut of the Green Lantern Corps? Or something less impactful and more on the fun side.

Thankfully we won’t have to wait that much longer to find out. Justice League arrives in cineplexes everywhere on November 17.
