Geoff Johns gives fans an introduction to DC Comics’ big event—Doomsday Clock.

This is the DC Comics event fans have been waiting for—Doomsday Clock. Ever since DC Universe: Rebirth #1 kicked off the publisher’s mission of going back to its roots of optimism and hope, a mystery has been brewing. The involvement of the Watchmen (in particular, Doctor Manhattan), had everyone talking.

Today, DC chief creative officer and DC Films co-chairman Geoff Johns introduces fans to one of DC’s biggest story arcs since the 1980s Crisis on Infinite Earths. In this video—titled “Road to Doomsday Clock”—Johns (who’s also the writer), gives fans a quick rundown of what has happened and what may transpire.

Johns guarantees this will be an epic tale and not a gimmick of just having Batman brawling against Rorschach. The twelve-issue miniseries will kick off on November 22, 2017 and will answer many questions already posed in the DC Universe: Rebirth #1 one-shot. Seeing how the overall Rebirth initiative has been progressing, I’m sure the word “epic” is an understatement and DC Comics will surely deliver something that will satisfy fans.

A big thing to note is Johns emphasizing the introduction of something new and fresh, yet keeping in line with past traditions and paying homage to DC’s very rich history. So we can be assured that Doomsday Clock will properly honor the overall DC universe.

Doomsday Clock #1 will be released November 22, 2017. It will be written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Gary Frank, with colors by Brad Anderson.

The first superhero Steve ever saw was Christopher Reeve's Superman in 1978. Steve was only a year old and couldn't really appreciate history being made. Little did he know at the time, the seed was already planted—which would grow into a lifelong obsession with superheroes and comics. Today, Steve also adds science fiction, horror, and movies to his repertoire of nerdy fanaticism. His dream is to one day sell his novel or screenplay.
